Dear Director General WHO,

I call on the World Health Organization to

Review the scientific evidence related to indoor humidity and respiratory immune system response, viral transmission and virus inactivation.
Produce guidelines on the minimum lower limit of indoor humidity in public buildings for health.

Petition update

Thanks to your support, we have managed to raise the awareness of this issue on a global stage.

When asked in a press conference, the WHO’s Technical Lead for COVID-19, Dr Maria Van Kerkhove, said that the WHO were aware of this petition and have now put forward guidelines covering indoor humidity levels, in association with their scientific partners.

Dr Van Kerkhove specifically referenced an “ideal relative humidity of between 50 and 60%” and referred to their partner, the Global Heat Health Information Network, which in association with the WHO has published a recommendation to avoid low humidity below 40%RH on its website here.
